"Naik kereta! Jika tak, I tangkap u!", the police instructed me. I was exhausted. A ride home would be lovely. No, I had to refuse them. I have come too far to give up right now. The policemen probably never encounter such stubborn individual before. But they knew they had to make me comply. One way or another.

I'm 27 years old. Happily married. Play basketball once or twice every week. Stuck in front of my PC for the rest of my waking hours. Never run a marathon before. But overall, I'm fit and healthy, which brought me to the decision to run a full marathon with zero training.
Huge mistake.

It was a hot-hot sunny day, especially the women & men veteran were running under the hot sun at around 10.30am. This event was well organised and fun. Not many female participants especially women veteran (3 participants) & girl senior (4 participants). Medal & T-shirt have upgraded to better quality compared to last year. Due to shortage of time, his year bib no. did not have personalised name. Hopefully next year the organiser will resume it and provide better prizes for the winner to attract more participants.
Definately, next year will come back again.

Category: Girl junior, boy junior, Men open, Women open

Not many participants but Klang elite runners were here to crab the prizes. No marshall at the beginning of the route, caused some of the fast runners ran into wrong route & wasted 7 - 4 minutes. Only 5km but there were 5 check points, a red pouch was given to put the check point card. Goodies are a hand towel & the pouch.

Larian Rakyat 2009

Venue: i-City, Shah Alam

Distance: 10km & 7km

This run was organised by Tourism Selangor inconjunction with the Sultan Selangor 64th Birthday. It was organised about 3 weeks ago, targetted for 3000 runners, one third turn-up. Not all the place were taken up though, maybe it was due to the fact that it is state holiday in Selangor but a working day for Kuala Lumpur, and also due to school holiday, promotions to school children maybe a challenge.

Medal & bag only for top 20 runners, cash prize for top 5 runners. For juniors boys and girls, 50 medals each.

Macau International Marathon

Went to Macau for holiday, detour to Hong Kong & Zhu Hai. So at the same time joined in this marathon after the Penang Marathon on 22 Nov. Usually are about 900 full marathoners from all over the world that joined this race annually. The thing about this race is, they only gave 5 hours to complete the race ( and very strict too..we saw they gave the last medal at 5:02 before they actually tutup kedai). There is a midway cutoff time too....

And have run across the Sai Van bridge and Macau tower (picture above) 4 kali - ulang alik, up hill & down hill 8 kali, aduh. Sure will come back again, as already very familiar with Macau, where the stay, how to take free shuttle bus, where to eat, where to visit, how to cross the border to China etc

Macau Marathon medal is big & make of metal. The design was not attractive but the registration fees sangat mengakumkan RM150. Runner got to experience to run in the cold weather, received a medal, bag & big towel.

Good time to visit Hong Kong

An elite runner friend sms me & asked why lama sangat I didn't update my blog, sudah banyak ada jala labah-labah. Thanks for still remembering this blog.

Before we went to Hong Kong for holiday, we managed to search for this event & have signed up for the a one mile dash special race, organised by the Kwun Tong district on 29 Nov 09 in conjunction of the East Asia Game 2009. The race was in Kwoloon Bay Stadium. Although not many participated but there were many strong and fast runners took part (imagine - hardcore marathoners and kaki bomba).

Registration fees was HK20 - HK10 / RM10 - RM5 (very cheap), they provided a nice design T-shirt, bib no. with personal name, a lot of souvenier (magnet, pen, mouse pad,note pad, toy, photo frame etc).

4 categories (men open below 35, men master above 35, women open below 35, women master above 35) with 10 trophies each. No finisher medals and it seems that in Hong Kong, podium trophies for top 3 are common. We took part in the Men Master (35 above) and Women Open (below 35).

Mujur dapat satu trophy for the women open - 5th placing. For the Men Master nearly got the 'amkan' position 11, but to avoid getting the 'amkaness' feeling, we gave the 11th placing to another guy and opted for position 12 instead. He he.
