The prize catagories should be separated for the 10km as well. I'm a senior veteran man that has to compete with the 15 year old boys. So many of them cheat for the money anyway how can one compete? Many of us do not run 21km any longer. The 10km runs should be tapered for the older crowds not the younger. Make the younger runners compete in the longer distances.
