An inaugural George Town City Day celebration will be held Jan 1 to commemorate George Town being elevated to the status of city by a Royal Charter granted by Queen Elizabeth II on Jan 1, 1957 The 1111 cyclists parade is one of the groups taking part in the George Town City Day Celebration which will be held on 1 January 2011. We reckon this is a very meaningful event as cyclists in Penang are wooing support to make Penang a cleaner and greener place to live. Registration is now open to all cyclists on a first-come-first-served basis, limited to 1111 participants only. Registered cyclists will receive a T-shirt each to wear during the Parade.
