Centro Klang Run 2016 is back with new Klang Heritage Trail 

On Sunday 21 August 2016, Centro Mall will be organizing its 8th Centro Klang Run and the 3rd Centro Tower Run. This year, the Centro Klang Run runners will take on a new challenge to run through a new Klang Heritage Trail running through the oldest part of Klang town.

In summary, the marathon event consists of:
a) Centro Klang Run where 5,000 runners will run through the historical sites in Klang via Klang Heritage Trail;
b) Centro Tower Run where runners run up 567 steps to reach Centro Tower, the tallest tower in Klang
c) Centro Corporate Charity Relay Tower Run which is open to companies only. All registration fees collected from this category will be donated to single mother’s home Pertubuhan Ibu Tunggal Semarak Kasih Selangor.

CENTRO KLANG RUN:
will be held on 21 Aug 2016 and this year, runners will run through fascinating streets of Klang’s Little India, old colonial government buildings, Sultan’s palace, the royal gallery, old clubhouse, places of worship, an old fire-station, a former tin warehouse plus the very first Bak Kut Teh shop in Klang (a famous Klang delicacy amongst Klang’s Chinese) and a popular kopitiam in Klang. This Trail is similar to the guided tour of the ROYAL KLANG TOWN HERITAGE WALK, a weekly initiative by Tourism Selangor.

The Centro Klang Run consists of 9 categories: Men and Women Open, Veteran and Senior Veteran category; School Boys, School Girls, Fun Run and a Family Fun Run. The Family Fun Run is open to children age 4 to 9 years old where parents and children can run together in the 900m event. For those who join the Family Fun Run, the participants will be entitled to a special event- Family Breakfast Run in June and limited edition goody bags for the children on event day in August.

CENTRO TOWER RUN:
This year marks the 3rd year of the Tower Run where runners will run 1.7km on the road before running up 567 steps or 90.72 metres to reach the finishing line at the Penthouse on the 31st floor of Centro Office Tower to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Klang.

The Corporate Charity Relay Tower Run is category for companies who would like to register their employees (4 in a team) to run a relay race up the Centro Tower. Registration fees collected from this category will be donated to single mother’s home Pertubuhan Ibu Tunggal Semarak Kasih Selangor. Last year, RM11,000.00 was collected and donated to the Home.

Finishing Medal, Certificate and Goody Bag: Other than receiving the limited edition Brooks running vest before the event, runners who complete the race within the cut-off timing will be rewarded with custom-made finisher's medal, certificate and goody bag filled with valuable cash vouchers & goodies!

Prizes: The Top Runner for Category A to G, TA to TD will receive prizes worth more than RM3,000.00 plus limited edition trophy. Top 10 Runners will also receive trophy, Brooks sports voucher, F&B vouchers and more! Runners are also entitled to lucky draw during the prize presentation to win exciting prizes such as smartphones, watches, vouchers and many more!

Registration starts 22 March 2016 onwards via Customer Service Counter, Level 2, Centro Mall or online via myraceonline.com. This event is open to Malaysians and limited to the first 5,000 entries (Centro Klang Run) and 500 entries (Centro Tower Run).
