Walkabrella 2009
A Project by the Mass Communication Students of KBU for their Public Relations class. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness for a medical condition called CEREBRAL PALSY. Its a condition that can affect any child between birth and 3 years old when the brain is still developing. This event will be an attempt to break the Malaysian Book of Records.
Event: 6 km walk for a cause.
Venue: Central Park Avenue, BU (The park opposite 1Utama)

Elken Quacky Run 2009 - Runner's Feedback
Mr. Choy - CEO of Assunta HospitalWow! what fun it was.
It was a fun run with a purpose. It was an event that supported the cervical and breast cancer campaign collecting donations for patients who cannot afford the treatment.
It was conceived by Assunta Hospital and Championed by Jaya One, a commercial, retail and leisure complex with a heart.
My excitement started when my wife Vijaya made a royal annoucement that she will be participating in the Quacky Run with our daughther.
You see the word exercise is french to Vijaya.... so that annoucment was a shock and awe tactic that confused me.
Should I be excited because for the first time I will be joined by my family for a run or should I be concerned that Vijaya would require medical and mental attention during the run.
Anyway.. I am a risk taker so I decided to take them with me.

‘1Toilet’ plan to let teachers and students mingle freely
KUALA TERENGGANU: The state government will introduce a “1Toilet” policy in a move to liberalise education, where teachers – and even principals – will soon have to share toilets with their students.
State Education, Higher Learning, Human Resource, Science and Technology Committee chairman Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman said the policy was mooted in line with the 1Malaysia concept, and teachers and students could have a feeling of “oneness”.
“We want students to have a sense of belonging that we believe would inspire them to excel further in their education.
“When students share the toilets with the teacher, they (students) will believe that they are on par with academicians and this automatically invokes a sense of being important to an organisation, which, in this case, is the school,” he said here yesterday.

23rd Mt. Kinabalu Int. Climbathon 2009 Result
Deemed as “the World’s Toughest Mountain Race”, the Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon is the ultimate challenge to take for those game enough to test their endurance by running up and down Mount Kinabalu for a total distance of 21 kilometers.

Ride with Chief Minister Fulfilled 2009
The total number has exceeded our target of getting a minimum of 500 cyclists and maximum of 1000 to ride with the CM. The number would have been a lot higher if we did not put a cap on the registration and unfortunately this unpopular move has to be executed so as not to strain on the budget and safety of this event. The large number of cyclists augur well with our pursue to implement bicycle lanes and dedicated bicycle paths and we hope this will send a clear signal to the government that cyclists need space!!!

Mizuno Wave Run (25 Oct 2009)

Venue: UPM
Distance: 11km
This year there are total 4200 runners particapted in this run. The is a new running route, double hill and tough especially the last 2km but the runners who finished strong are tougher.
Overall it was well organized, just tangkai jering sangat patut lah give top 10 trophy instead of just top 5. Lagi pun tarak lucky draw.
Those top 5 winners got a tropy, a Suunto watch, Mizuno voucher, a tin of Milo, knee protector.

The Salomon X-Trail Run, KL 2009
Get ready for the SALOMON X-Trail Run 2009 - held for the first time in Malaysia @ Taman Lembah Kiara, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. With two distances, a 4km distance for those who are new to off-road running, or just wanting to have a fun time in the trails; and a 10km distance for those who want a bit more pain - the run is set to be a great morning out in the hills of the well-known Bukit Kiara.
