When: 12 Jul 2009
Time: 6:45am
Where: Negeri Sembilan Padang Seremban
Distance: 21km & 10km
Taniah kepada organiser for putting up a excellent event.
- Majlis Perbandaran N.S
- Persatuan Olahraga Amator
- Seremban Hash House Harriers
- Syarikat Perkasa Antah
Excellent event as:
1. VIPs came earlier, no speech, gun-off on time
2. Different category has its own gathering point, no confusion
3. Route hilly challenging, good traffic control, sufficient water stations
4. Runners get their medal & sijil on finishing line, no need re-queue & merebut-rebut
5. Many sponsors, The Star, Milo, 100+, Forest Height, Power, Royal Selangor dll
6. Good lucky draw system, a lucky draw voucher randomly placed inside the sijil, whoever get the voucher would collect their prize from the booth, no need to wait for Lucky prizes drawing & calling
7. Result for top 10 prizes winner came out very fast & hanging for viewing
8. Top 10 runners could collect their cash prize once the result has finalized, no need to wait for trophy presentation. Only top 3 runners have to wait.
9. Take care and more categories for handicap participants - wheel chair, mentally handicap, blind, deaf & dumb
10. Cash prizes value for male & females are the same, no discrimination
11. Entertainment events for audience like Jai Ho dance, MJ Dance, lion dance, traditional dance dll
Suggestion for improvement:
1. Clearer signage especially at the junction, as some 21km runners ran into wrong route
2. One counter for each category for winners to queue to avoid mess when distributing cash prize
3. As the winner for open category are mostly foreigner, so suggest to have separate category for Malaysian only or provide more cash prizes, i.e instead of top 10, maybe increase to top 20
4. As there are so many rubbish created, suggest not to use cups. Provide a bottle of 100+, a bottle of water and a cane of Milo to each runner afther the finishing line
5. To improve the toilet facility and cleanliness, as there is only 1 women toilet is usable.
Look forward for other events organisers to follow this and put up a better running race.
See you all in Siemens Run, Shape Run & Adidas KOTR.
Latest new update from theStar :
ALTHOUGH the Kenyans again made a clean sweep of the top prizes at this year’s edition of the Seremban Half Marathon (SHM) recently, the top Malaysian finishers in both the men’s and women’s categories went home happier as they were rewarded double the prize money. More..
