MPIB Run 2014 - Launching of Project Good Deed Shoes

MPIB Run is in its 3rd year and for 2 years MPIB together with main sponsors; Alliance Bank and New Balance sponsored 30 young adults from 3 Universities to join the Run.  The objective is to encourage these students to take up running as a healthy lifestyle and/or to be involved as volunteers in the organizing of the Run.

For 2014 Run, MPIB decided to do more by joining hands with runners to collect running or sports shoes for the Orang Asli community as runners shared that they change their shoes after 800 to 1,000 km to prevent injuries. MPIB is giving 100% support to this CSR Good Deed Shoes 2014 project

Members of the Organizing Committee has met with representatives from the Orang Asli Community and it was gathered that there are many settlements under his care needed shoes and for a start, 2 communities were identified and they are from Sungai Larah, Ulu Yam and Bukit Tunggul, Dengil, Selangor.

Runners are encouraged to drop their pre-loved running shoes or any sports shoes in clean and still good condition at:

  • My First Run Clinic on 21st December 2013 at Padang Merbuk car park
  • Race Entry Pack collection from 27th to 29th Dec 2013 at OCM Training Hall
